A Welcome from Ynysfach WI
Ynysfach WI has been part of Resolven for over 50 years,
providing a place for fun, friendship, outings and events,
including opportunities for trying new skills and finding new
interests.
We are well known locally for our cake stalls, but we are so
much more than that.
Please take a look at our upcoming meetings and events
and see if you might like to be part of the next 50 years of
Ynysfach WI.
Just come along to any of our monthly meetings held on the
3rd Wednesday of the month in St David’s Church Hall at 2pm
You can attend 3 consecutive meetings free before deciding
if you would like to join.

DIARY DATES – 2026
OCTOBER
14th October: Visit to the Wales Air Ambulance base at Dafen to have a
tour and to present a donation of £300 raised at our cake stall
at the carnival. Followed by lunch at the Sessile Oak, Trostre.
21st October: Monthly meeting – Talk by John Sheen – ‘Growing up in
Port Talbot – the teenage years’.
NOVEMBER
14th November: ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ Musical at the Gwyn Hall – 1pm
18th November: Monthly meeting –‘Felting Joy’ with Eva Leslie, a
demonstration of needle felting.
21st November: GFWI Christmas tree and craft festival at Carmel Chapel,
Port Talbot 11.30 followed by lunch at the Grove Golf Club.
25th November: Social group evening at Crynant WI, we will be entertained
by a singing trio. 6-8pm Crynant Community Centre £4 with
complimentary glass of prosecco or fruit juice, nibbles and
a raffle.
29th November: WI cake stall at Building blocks Christmas Fayre 2 – 5.30pm.
DECEMBER
4th December: ‘Step into Christmas’ festive music show in Swansea Arena.
9th December: Christmas lunch at Memories 12.30 £30.
16th December: Our Christmas party with food, fun and games!

JANUARY
20th January: Monthly meeting – a talk by John Richards
‘The Romans in South Wales.
27th January: A ‘bring and buy’ coffee morning raising funds
for Breast Cancer Now. ‘Wear it Pink’
This will be a social group event with Glynneath
WI and Crynant WI
( date to be confirmed)
FEBRUARY
12th February: WI skittles match with our friends from Crynant
and Glynneath WIS. 7pm in Cam gears club
with food.
17th February: Monthly meeting – Glass painting with Arnelle
Dignam.
MARCH
17th March: Ynysfach WI Annual Meeting – a round up of the
last year and the election of our committee and
officers.
