The Great Easter Egg Hunt
This Easter weekend there was a great Easter Egg Hunt along the canal in Resolven. It was organised by the Resolven Ladies Group and sponsored by the Resolven Welfare and they were also helped by some hard working volunteers. One of the organisers was Diane Sims:
“It started off as an idea but became a community effort with people knitting chicks, painting stones, donating easter eggs, packing them into treat bags, going out to hide them, and some even dressed up they all contributed with donations and more importantly their time and effort to make an idea a reality. Thank you to all the following groups, volunteers, and businesses:
- Welfare Ladies Group who organised it,
- Jane Llewellyn, Pam Jones, and Julie Bevan for their knitting skills,
- Resolven Miners Welfare, Councillor Dean Lewis, Gary McKeown, Lloyd Bayliss for their support,
- Fiona Williams and Julia watts for turning up to help make the trail along the canal,
- Ty Banc,
- All the children who coloured in the easter egg signs,
- Emily and Lillia Gladwin for helping to paint rocks to hide,
- Special mention to the Easter bunny who entertained and made us all smile over the canal and in the park later on the day.
