Active Travel Network Map Consultation

Neath Port Talbot Council is undertaking a statutory update of its Active Travel Network Map (ATNM) in line with the Active Travel (Wales) Act 2013. We are now inviting public feedback to help shape future improvements to walking, wheeling, and cycling routes across the county borough, from September 3rd to October 19th.

Key Points: This update involves a comprehensive review and rationalisation of both existing and proposed routes. Existing Routes will be assessed to ensure they meet Welsh Government standards for active travel infrastructure. Future Routes, including those that are planned or require improvement, will be evaluated and refined to support more effective, inclusive, and accessible travel options.

The public consultation provides residents with a valuable opportunity to contribute directly to this process. By sharing their experiences, ideas, and concerns, individuals can help shape the future of active travel in Neath Port Talbot. Their input will inform investment decisions, support the development of safer routes, and ensure the network reflects the needs and priorities of local communities.
