NPT Free Food Package

Food Package: The free food package from Neath Port Talbot (NPT) contains a variety of essentials including pasta, cooking oil, pasta sauce, long life milk, spreadable butter, a variety of fruit and vegetables, tinned goods such as baked beans/soup, eggs and biscuits. The NPT food distribution centre will cater for dietary needs and are hoping to add ready meals to the list of items in the parcel. Members of the community can either have a one off delivery or a weekly delivery. The food package is free and delivered directly to the person.

A resident can ring NPT Safe and Well on 01639 686868 to receive more information regarding receiving  a food package if they are not able to access shops, for example, not being able to access delivery due to high demand or lack of facilities in the community, whether that be through self-isolation or shielding. This also includes households where members of the family are living with people who are self-isolating/shielding, and as a result, would find shopping safely difficult. I believe the aim is to ensure that all members of the community who require support at this time are able to receive essential food items. Currently, volunteers are not able to shop directly for residents. Hopefully, the facility for volunteers to collect and deliver shopping that residents have ordered and paid for will be available soon – I will let you know as soon as that is up and running
