Skittles Night at AFC Resolven( Cam Gears Club)
Resolven Ladies Bowlers hosted a very enjoyable and successful Skittles Competition on Friday.
Stevie Allen was the worthy winner.
Stevie Allen was a winner later in the evening too when Cam Gears Bowls Club presented trophies fought for during their 2022 outdoor bowls season.

2022 Remembrance Sunday Service Resolven
At 10.30a.m. on Sunday 13 November 2022 a Remembrance Service began (now organised by Resolven Community Council) at the St David’s Church Hall, Resolven which is adjacent to the Resolven Cenotaph. The Service was taken by Moira Randall, Reader (LLM) Licensed Lay Minister. Before the commencement of the Service, Moira said that, although WW I was spoken of as a war to end all wars, we are all aware of the many conflicts around the world that have been and are continuing to this day, as we remember the past and the present who have given their lives so that we can live in peace.
After the Service Moira Randall and the congregation moved out into the unseasonably warm sunshine to join a crowd at the War Memorial.
Four children from Ynysfach School read out the names of the ‘fallen’ etched onto the Resolven War Memorial.

As the ‘Last Post’ was played by Karen Partridge the flag bearer Martin Evans lowered the Union Jack.
After the two minutes silence was observed at 11.00 a.m. Karen sounded the ‘Reveille’.
Wreathes were laid at the base of the War Memorial, by representatives of local organisations.
Karen Partridge started playing ‘The Last Post’ and ‘Reveille’ at the Resolven Remembrance Services at a very young age and we are very grateful that this years’ Service is the 42nd year of her attendance.

Clyne Remembrance Service
Moira Randall (Reader and Licensed Minister) mounts the steps to the Memorial with Flagbearer Martin Evans and Chair. of Clyne Melincourt C.C Gillian Francis to join Karen Partridge. Moira conducted the Service in Clyne as well as Resolven. Karen has played the Last Post at both Clyne and Resolven Rembrance Services for over 20 years.

President Carwen
On Sunday, members of Resolven Ladies Bowls Club were at W.Glam.Ladies A.G.M, to see their hardworking and popular sec./treasurer take office as President of the Association
Carwen was cheered to the rafters, not only by Resolven Ladies Club but by all at the meeting.
The Chain of Office was presented to Carwen by the outgoing President Kath Hawes, who’d filled the post admirably for three years instead of the usual one, because of the Covid pandemic, while Carwen waited patiently in the wings!
Carwen also received an inscribed watch from her home club, presented to her by Resolven Ladies Vice- Chairperson Christine Twaite.
This is the first time that any Resolven bowler, man or woman, has served as president of their county association.
Congratulations Carwen and have a great year.

Cirrus Clouds in Tonna
Cirrus is a genus of high cloud made of ice crystals. Cirrus clouds typically appear delicate and wispy with white strands. Cirrus are usually formed when warm, dry air rises, causing water vapour deposition onto rocky or metallic dust particles at high altitudes.
